I was able to jump right in and start playing songs even though I knew nothing about playing the ukulele. I also appreciate the modern songs so I could enjoy learning songs that I liked.
I love this app and the price is right for new songs. It keeps crashing on my iPhone so I have to use my iPad to play most of the time.
APPENDED REVIEW: 2/7/2017. There have been no Updates on this app for about 2 years now. It wont even open anymore. Dont bother downloading it, save your space for something that works - (like Riffstation) I enjoyed this app while it was useful, and I miss it! EUM Labs, please either FIX IT or remove/replace it, Thanks.
~2015: OK, sure: its not perfect. It starts out free, but you need to buy the GOOD songs. However, you can check in and for every five check-ins you get a ticket, good toward the purchase of songs. There are some great strumming patterns & practice exercises, also some beginning fingerpicking! Come on now, be fair: before you judge, make sure you look at the features of an app thoroughly & give it a proper chance! I have been playing for a little over a year now & some of the features of this app are more useful than I found them to be earlier on. I still use it almost daily. Thanks EUMLab!

Just a few bugs when I updated, I lost few songs that I purchased with tickets but its no big deal...
Some bad moments
You can learn any uke song on YouTube without paying 99 cents per song...
Bottom line
•good for beginners and beginners only
•extremely simple (which is disappointing if your looking to actually learn something new)
•every song costs a dollar (you can find BETTER tutorials on YouTube for FREE)
Ive being playing ukulele for a little while now, but Im always seeking new ways to learn. I got this app because the reviews said positive things about it. And it also said it included picking tutorials. I downloaded the app, and all the songs cost one dollar, except the child hood nursery rhyme one. I already knew the would cost money, but I thought that they would provide a decent song to begin with. I automatically went to the tutorials and scrolled to find some stunning and picking tips. They were easy common ukulele knowledge stuff so I scrolled to the bottom for more difficult material. They were all easy! If you are a total beginner this is great for you. But for those of you who are looking for more challenging material, look elsewhere. There is no challenge in this app. If youre looking for and instructional ukulele app, youd be better off downloading YouTube.
I loved this app so much. It has taught me a lot. Unfortunately, it suddenly stopped working and when I tried to reload the app it didnt load any of my purchased songs. Im so disappointed.
Might be unrelated but it doesnt matter. App shouldnt be so brittle. Id like to practice the song I bought...but it becomes unresponsive and heats up my phone. iPhone 7.
This app constantly crashes on me, does not give me the "free" tokens it promises, and glitches out constantly. I cant even get into it right now because the screen is frozen. Its a nice idea, but has way to many issues to be useful.
This app is great when its working but it has been crashing all day today. I wanted to show off my new uke skills and I couldnt get the app to play/load anything. Super dissatisfied since I purchased 3 songs for today.
